In 1988, The Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church had its beginning when a group of former members of Evans Grove Missionary Baptist Church, led by Deacon Eugene Evans and his wife, Sister Ruth Evans came together for the purpose of organizing a church. The first Worship Service which was led by Reverend Ralph Wade Mangum at Forest Hill Recreation Center in Durham, NC with 55 members. At this time, Church Officers were established: Deacons, Eugene Evans and Brother Leon Morgan; Trustees, Brother Sylvester Morgan and Brother Willie Morgan; Church Clerk, Sister Lorraine Shields; Assistant Church Clerk, Sister Dorothy Morton; Church Financial Secretary, Sister Cleriso Winston; Assistant Financial Secretary, Brother Willie Morgan; Church Treasurers, Sister Ruth Evans and Deacon Eugene Evans. After several years in this location, Worship Services were later held at Turnkey Recreation Center in Durham after which our first Church Anniversary was held on Sunday, August 13, 1989.

After the resignation of Reverend Mangum in 1989, the Lord called Reverend Cicero Williams, Jr. to become our Pastor. During this time, Worship Service was held on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month at W. D. Hill Recreation Center in Durham. After moving from several locations to include the old home place on New Light Road in Wake Forest, NC, Deacon Eugene and Sister Ruth Evans were divinely inspired to build a new edifice.

In 2000, ground was broken to begin building a new church. Prior to the completion of the new church, on November 28, 2002, God decided to call home His Angel and the Mother of the Church, Mother Ruth Evans.

In March of 2003, under the new leadership of Pastor Cicero Williams, Jr., the church voted to change the name of the church to Evans Solid Rock Church for All People (ESRCFAP). Although the new church was not yet completed, God continued to bless the members where they could continue their Worship Services at the home of Deacon Evans and Deacon Ralph and Deaconess Margorie Bowman who became members in 2003.

On Sunday, July 11, 2004, the members of ESCAP stepped out on faith and held their first Worship Service in their new location: 1017 Emeron Road, Wake Forest, NC with thirty-three members. With the new church, we were blessed to start two Sunday School classes: The Adult and Junior Sunday School Classes. As well as present our first children's Christmas Pageant that was held on December 18, 2004 and celebrate our first wedding. We continued to be blessed with several new members as well as celebrating our first Deacon, Deaconess and Trustee Day Service, Men's Day Service, Baptismals and Baby Dedications. We also celebrated a joyous occasion as Sister Mamie Bryant was licensed to Preach the Gospel under the leadership of Reverend Williams on September 7, 2008.

After 27 years of faithful service, Reverend Cicero Williams, Jr. tendered his resignation on June 25, 2016 as Pastor of ESRCFAP, effective September 30, 2016 and was accepted by the Church on June 28, 2016.

As we rejoiced and celebrated the Blessings of our Lord and Saviour, at the same time we were sadden of the homegoing of two of our most beloved members who were aspired to continue to follow God's assignment, to continue to build God's house, Deacon Emeritus Eugene Evans and his Daughter Deaconess Dorothy Morton on November 5, 2016.

After the resignation of Pastor Williams, God graciously Blessed us with our new Pastor, Elder Antonio R.

Wood, Sr., effective May 22, 2017. For this, we give all praises to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for this Man of God.
